Cannot Initialize Backup Archive Explorer

Thread needs solution

Hi, we have Acronis TrueImage Home 2012 running accross 6 boxes (5 at work, 1 at home). We bought in May this year and have had minimal issues untill recently. We ran our normal weekly backups on the home box yesterday (C: and E: drives Win XP) which appeared to go through ok. But we now have 2 issues, one major. Within the Acronis software most lists of the backups now say 'not backed up yet' - even though some of these are weeks old.

Of more importance is the fact that we tried to mount both our backed up images and got the folowing error: "Cannot Initialize Backup Archive Explorer: please reinstall Acronis True Image Home". We could not mount either through Acronis or through Windows explorer. We downloaded the latest version and installed it but still have an issue.

We looked through the help functions and searched the web but cannot find an answer to this issue. Any help gratefully received.

Christopher,

- Move the TIB files you want to keep to another folder on the same disk (to avoid a long file copy),
- Launch ATI. In tools, export your backup settings,
- Close ATI. Uninstall ATI.
- Use the cleanup utility found here http://kb.acronis.com/content/34876 . Follow all instructions carefully. In particular, do not let the utility reboot your computer before you complete the last 2 checks.
- Reboot. Reinstall ATI. Import your backup settings back. Run your backups.
- When you have enough history, delete the older TIB files you manually for safekeeping.
