Cannot name backups or set default backup location?

Thread needs solution

2014 was a bit annoying as the default backup location would often change randomly, but at least you could change it easily. In 2015 you have to browse your hard drives to set a location. Also, when you backed up (I am talking full backups which I do every few days manually, nothing incremental or on autopilot) you could name the backup, and it would put it in a folder with that name. 2015 just gives it a name you have no control over and does not put it in a named folder. Am I missing something? This all means that what took a couple of clicks and typing a name in 2014 takes a multitude of clicks and manual folder creation in 2015. What a HUGE step backwards!

You can name it by clicking on the pencil icon next to the default name at the top of the window.

Oh, way cool, thanks. That actually makes all the difference - I can clone the backup settings so I don't have to re-navigate to the backup folder and just rename the backup. Might be better than 2014 after all...

The manual is wrong. It shows you can edit the backup name in the dark blue pane directly. It doesn't show a pencil icon at the top of the large white edit pane.

I think that part of the manual was written during the beta - the beta product did work as per the manual, however there were reported problems in GUI updating, so i imagine this is one reason for the movement of the editing function to where it now is.

Hello everyone,

thank you for your posts.

Concerning the problem with the wrong screenshots/instructions in Help - the problem is known as TI-23495 and is being fixed.
Concerning the backup location: could you please specify the problem and your expectations (or inconvenience). In the current version you can choose the backup destination by setting up the backup task the following way:
Add Backup -> Select destination -> Browse

Thank you for your response in advance.
Kind regards,
