Cannot open .zip archive outside ATI

Hello everybody,
My OS is Windows 8.1 Pro.
I have downloaded and installed "ATIH2014_trial_it-IT.exe" (17.0.0.6614) to evaluate ATI 2014.
I set a File Backup job using the .zip archive option. I execute it and everything seems ok, the restore works but I am unable to open the .zip file outside ATI, neither with File Explorer nor with 7-Zip app (the file is pretty small).
Can anybody help me to solve this issue?

Thanks for your answer. If I only change 'format' to zip will I be able to run incremental backups with zip file format?
Not sure. Userguide says that yes, but 2014 build 5560 issues a warning that .zip backups can be only full and selects a mandatory 'custom' scheme with only full backups.
