Cannot Restore D: Drive

Thread needs solution

I have been backing up D: drive to a wifi seagate harddrive, I did not do the NAS stuff (I don't even know what that is), my seagate drive shows up as Y: drive under my computer. My operating system is on C: drive Windows 7) while all of my programs and documents reside on D: drive.

I attempted to restore using the acronis boot cd but from that I could not find my wifi drive. I then re-installed acronis on my re-formatted D: drive and attempted to recover the backup, during the process it rebooted then gave me a "failed to open backup \\seagate\user\datapart D blah blah.tib make sure the backup location is accessible and contains all versions of the backup

Now I do not know what to do.

Any help will be appreciated.

Do the restore from the recovery CD, do not start from Windows.
Can you access the TIB file using the recovery CD? If yes, let us know.
If no, this is probably because your Wifi adapter is not supported by the recovery CD. Make sure it is the case by trying to see anything on the network.
If this is correct, your option is to copy your TIB file to a USB disk, or to try to connect using an Ethernet cable rather than Wifi.
