Cannot restore my Backup on SONY VAIO SVE1713Y1E

Thread needs solution

I have TrueImage 2014 on SONY VAIO SVE1713Y1E.

I'd like to restore my backup. I select the image I want to use dan then the program tells me to reboot to recover.
I click reboot and the laptop reboots and I only see a black screen with my VAIO logo on it and nothing further happens.

How can I fix this problem so that I restore my laptop with my backup image?

I pressed the "assist" button on my Sony laptop when my laptop was not on. Then it boots with a menu. When I choose F11, I was able to to boot from the acronis boot-cd. Managed also to select my backup image an was able to restore from it.

Why can't I restore from within the True Image Program?

Han,
Various manufacturers use different formatting schemes on their disks for diagnostic and recovery purposes. It is possible that ASR (F11) is not totally compatible with your system because of this. You appear to have found a work around. I personally would create an Acronis boot CD, disable the Start up recovery manager and use it on those occasions I need to recover. This is because I am a fan of leaving the MBR in an "unchanged" state whenever possible. Choice is yours.

OK, I will use the CD instead in the future. I now know how to boot up my system in the furure with it.

Tnx for your answer.
