Cannot Restore TI 9 Backup (tried 11 and 2012 as well...)

Thread needs solution

Hello,
I hope someone can help since I'm running out of options here.

I backed up my computer with True Image 9 (on accident because I have TI 11 as well, but I grabbed the wrong disk) and chose the .zip format instead of .tib because I thought it would give me more flexibility with restoring files. After backing up I have TI verify the backup and once that passed, I reformatted the computer and did a fresh install of windows.

The trouble came once I tried to restore the files. TI 9 and 11 both are giving the error: Specify location of the Volume 1." If I select the backup file (there is only one backup file...) it gives the error again. If I try to open the zip (WinRAR, 7zip), I get the error that it's not a valid archive. I can look through the backup using TI 11 and see the files and the backup file is 38GB, so I think all the files are in there, I just can't get to them.

Any help!? I am panicked that I've lost everything even though I can "see" the file names, just not restore them.

Did you try the restore with 2012 in Windows? If you install 2012, you might be able to:
- double click on the archive and copy/past from there (although I am not sure this feature works for ZIP formatted archives)
- restore using the ATI UI
- restore using the ATI recovery CD.

Your last chance is to file an incident with Acronis support since you are facing a recovery issue, it should be no charge.
