Cannot view progress of backup in Windows 7 64-bit; and second backup was larger than first rather than incremental
I am now attempting to use 2013 on my Windows 7 64-bit system, backing up to an Iomega external 2TB drive. I have not been able to view any backup progress info, no am I given the option of shut-down after backup completion. I run 2012 on my XP system without problems. The other perplexing thing is that my second backup wound up being larger than the first one, instead of the anticipated smaller incremental backup. I am now almost out of disk space. Any ideas?

No, and thank you for taking the time to explore. I do, however, run Iolo System Mechanic, which performs background defrag during idle moments.

Due to the way True Image works, any defragmentation programs running between image taking will cause TI to make an incremental or differential image that is as big or in some cases bigger than the original. This is because True Image works at the disk sector level, running a defrag program reorganises those sectors, as the sector information has changed TI sees information change and includes it in the next image it makes.
