Can't install 2011, any version now..??

Thread needs solution

Need help please. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. I've had TI installed since I built this mobo a year ago. I had TI 10, then 11, and now 2011. The issue is that my most recent working version was released mid summer 2010, a few months ago. That installed and has been working fine.

Today I get a message saying there is a update, 5519. I tried several things to get this to upgrade but each time I end up with a message that says that the install was interupted before it could be complete, please try again. How nice!

So after turning off A/V, and everything and still no luck, I decided to uninstall the current version. Big Mistake because that version worked just fine! I now have no installation of TI. I get that same error when trying to install directly, meaning I downloaded the latest 5519 from the site. I then figured it was this new updated version that isn't happy with my rig. I tired going back and doing a fresh install of the version released prior, and got the same darn error. At this point, it don't look like I can install TI 2011 at all. Again, I turned off all protection, shutdown everything, and still the install ends in failure.

I'm current on all Microsoft patches.

I'm due to do a backup so I need to get TI installed again. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Steve

You can try running the TrueImage cleanup utility. Check my signature below in lower right corner.

Do you have a prior backup? Why not restore it and at least your system will be back to same it was at time of backup.

Thanks! I'll give the cleanup tool a try. I did install 2010 and that went fine. At least I was able to get a backup image. I assume this cleanup app will uninstall my 2010 as well, and leave me Acronis clean.

Yes, the cleanup tool will remove 2010 as well. As for leaving you Acronis clean,. that you will have to verify via inspection of the registry and folders.

Well, I guess I'll have to call support. I've unstalled 2010 and ran the Cleanup tool. There are no registry entries nor directlies remaining. I've tried the 2011 install several more times, with every option changed to see if anything made a difference to no avail. Each time it gets to about 80% complete (the progress bar) and then it stops, and the bar goes backwards (thus uninstalling/canceling). I then get the pop up that says the installation was interupted, try again. WTF? I even have AV turned off during this install.

What kills me is that I was able to intall 2011 when it was released without any issues. For some reason I now cannot install any version of 2011 on my Windows 7 32 bit OS. Perhaps a MS update did something that is killing the install script.

Any ideas on what else to try?

Thanks,

Steve

Found another thread with the answers. Using this article, http://kb.acronis.com/content/15190
worked to resolve my issue. I now have TI home 2011 installed.
