Can't Recover Files True Image 2013

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I have True Image 2013 installed on a basically virgin Windows 8 (not Windows 8.1), 64-bit machine. I use this machine as a server/NAS of sorts as it holds many files I access from my network. Other than it's usage, it's a run of the mill PC with very little installed on it.

I've had True Image installed on this machine for a few months now and use it to create an incremented daily disk backup of my drive to a backup drive installed on the same machine. It has always seemed to work well in the past when I've needed to access backed up files.

Today however this no longer works. Typically I go to Windows Explorer and double click the .tib file to view the partitions and then the files I'd like to copy/restore. For some reason I can't get this to work now. I also tried browsing my backup through Acronis True Image but it just hangs.

I tried repairing the installation but it makes no difference. I also tried the option where I could select to Mount a .tib file through Windows Explorer but this doesn't work either.

At this point I assume the backups are being created properly but I can't access any files.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

Oliver

Using the TI recovery CD is still an option for your recoveryof file or files.

Your issue could be a Windows issue but one option you cant ry is to use the TI Cleanup utility (signature link 4) and then do a fresh install.
This won't affect the tib files but it will delete your existing tasks.

Thanks for this info. The TIH Cleanup Utility and fresh install unfortunately did not work. I'm still having the same issues as before. Seems odd that this program doesn't work properly on a Windows 8 computer with very little in the way of added programs since buying it from the store.

Any other ideas? Thanks for your time.
