Can't Reinstall TrueImage into a repaired Windows XP Pro

Thread needs solution

I recently installed Windows XP Pro onto a new disk using the CD.
I installed all the hardware drivers for the HP laptop.
I got the internet going and downloaded TrueImage trial version and made a backup image.
I had a memory chip go bad so windows wouldn't boot. I let Windows try to fix itself but it corrupted itself.
I fixed the memory chip and Windows repaired itself.
I let Windows keep downloading updates until the wireless network was restored.
I tried to use Excel. It said I should reinstall. I removed it and reinstalled.
error message: "The file Proof.es\Proof.msi could not be found."
I try to start TrueImage but it won't restart and wants to be reinstalled.
I try to reinstall but it says there is another version installed and I should remove it.
Windows Add/Remove software says the data for Acronis is corrupted and it won't delete the program.
So I'm stuck. I can't delete TrueImage and I can't reinstall it.
What do I do?

Hello,

thomasjk, thank you very much for the help, you're absolutely correct.

Kjell, let me assist you.

As thomasjk mentioned, please use Acronis Clean-Up utility to get rid of all traces of the previous installation. After that you should be able to install Acronis True Image from scratch.

Please reply to this thread if the issue still persists or if you have any additional questions.

Thank you.

i need to reinstall acronis, but i can't because my installation is currupt, and i can't get access to the articles mentioned above.

Ken,
If you made backups with TrueImage Home, then restore the backup and your system will be the same as it was at the time the backup was created.

What version of windows and which version of True Image Home.
