Clean up utilities

Thread needs solution

Having just used the 2012 cleanup utility, I note it states (when run) that it covers,

TI10,11,2009,2010,2011,2012.

I've only tested it on 2012.

Note if you have Acronis Internet Security installed it will wipe out your activation data for it, but otherwise leaves it untouched.

Uninstalling TIH 2010. Regarding uninstalling, or trying to, Acronis TIH 2010. This is installed on a machine running Windows XP with SP3. As anyone who has tried the to uninstall this software knows the process pins the CPU clock and appears to be doing nothing. It remains in this state and must be canceled. No one has mentioned that before hanging it places a file in the Temp folder called "securezone_upgrade_standard.exe". Internally this file is named "Acronis True Image Asz Updater". It doesn't sound like this is an uninstaller.

If one searches you can locate, in Windows\Installer, a hidden folder, a file named "155650.msi'', which is titled "Acronis True Image Installaton Database". Opening this produces a pop-up offering you the option to Modify, Repair or Remove Acronis True Image Home. Considering what I read in this forum about removing this software I choice Repair.

It ran for a short time and terminated with an error message:

"The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2718."

I offer this information hoping that it will be of some value to the Acronis Techs to help them resolve the uninstalling problem. I would expect that they know this already. Perhaps they can explain what error code 2718 means.

Colin, I have also used the 2012 Cleanup Utility to remove TIH 2012. It will destroy most other versions of Acronis software that are installed. Also the 2012 Cleanup Utility does not work well on TIH 2011. The 2011 Cleanup Utility works much better for that version.
Per Acronis, in your link to 2012 Cleanup Utility:
