Cleanup nonstop backup files

Thread needs solution

Acronis TI Home 2010. I use Nonstop backup to store a backup on an external hard drive. However the external hard drive is now full because of the number of backups stored there and I want to remove some of the old ones. I can’t figure out how to do this. The instructions in the Acronis User’s Guide don’t work. I can’t open a screen that has a cleanup button to clean the storage location. How can I clean out old files with Acronis? Should I just open the external hard drive and delete the old tib files that I no longer want?

John,

You have to use ATI's interface to clean up the NSB. If you can't, you are stuck. Do not delete the files manually because this will corrupt your NSB.
You have a couple of options:
- reinstalling 2010 to see if your UI issue can get resolved,
- file a ticket with Acronis support (this will cost you money)
- delete you current backup task entirely (you will lose older versions) and start a new backup
- change the backup disk and start a new task. (you have to rotate disks to work around the lack of clean up)
- upgrade to ATI 2012 (do a system backup before you install the trial, turn off security services as you upgrade)
