Clone Disk Failure - Win7 to Win7

Thread needs solution

This is doing my head in and I'm very annoyed with Acronis - I won't be upgrading again unless this gets sorted! I'm currently using Acronis True Image Home 2012 edition.

I was working on a customer computer and had to replace the hard drive. I installed Windows 7 on it and set it up to required spec. Then I discover the drive should have been a larger one. So I bought a larger drive and thought it would be easy to Clone disk to disk. What a joke! Every time the Cloning completes and I connect new larger drive to PC and boot from it, the computer can't see it! I even tried doing a complete drive back up through Acronis True Image and Recover the data onto the new drive but for some reason it fails to create that Windows 7 100mb hidden partition even though I made sure the backup image had that hidden partition selected as well.

My PC has Acronis on it.
Customer's replacement HDD connected to m,y PC via eSATA doc.
I cloned to a larger drive via USB 3.0 doc connected to my PC.

I've bought a number of Acronis products and upgrades over the years and when I need it, it fails me! This isn't the first time I've had same problem with this Cloning but this time I decided to post for help because I do want to get this resolved for future occasions when I need it again.

Can anyone help me please?

Paul,

I am in the same boat here. I bought Acronis last year to clone one of my son's HD because I suspected it of failing. The process did not work due to bad sectors so I had to do a fresh install. I have not used True Image since. Now Son #1B has a 1.5 TB WD green Sata 3gbps that I want to clone to a WD green 1.5 TB Sata 6gbps. The original drive was an XP system that was upgraded to Win7 Home Premium x64. It has 4 virtual drives with the first being the 100 mb hidden system. Everything cloned as far as I can tell through viewing hidden files and such but When I put the new drive in, it doesn't find the boot. I cannot get support here without paying for it since I am beyond the coverage period so I was looking to see if I could find any info in the forums.

Did You get any help with your issue? It sounds about the same as mine.

Thanks,
Bob
