Clone dual boot hard drive

Thread needs solution

I have Acronis 10, but have not used it yet on my Widows 7 computer. I am planning on purchasing True Image Home 2012, but I have a question first. I set up a dual boot on my new computer, one boot into Windows 7 and the other to XP. This allows me to use my old XP programs once in a while plus I can boot to Windows 7 for the new stuff. When Acronis 2012 makes a clone, will it also clone both operating sysems. In other words, will the new hard drive be an exact copy of the old hard drive with dual boot?

Hello Pete,

Welcome to our Forum, and thank you for your interest in Acronis Products.

"In case you clone the drive, all the data on it will be transferred to the new one "as is", though you will be able to resize the partitions if you want. So, yes, if you clone the old HDD to the new one, it will be an exact dual boot copy of the old hard drive.

You can find more information about cloning procedure in this chapter of our webhelp.
