clone function doesn't work & SD card not accessible

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I have 2 problems
The first one is clone function.
I have try to clone my SSD boot disk (windows 7 64 bit partition).
The sdd source is inside my Dell XP17 (L702x)
The ssd target is connected to USB port (I have try usb 2.0 and usb 3.0 connection).
Target disk is inside external case with USB 3.0 controller.
I boot with TrueImage 2012 build 7119 (french version)
I choice cloning function and I select source, target, confirm my choice then I get immediately error:
cloning disk operation failed.
I have try on both USB type.
I successfully clone that disk with a old version of Trueimage deliver with Kingston SSD (strange, isn't it) on same hardware but connected on USB 2.0 (not on USB 3.0)

My 2nd problem seems already know.
I can't use SD card as it is not accessible since I install 2012 version.
Solution proposed doesn't work in my case (boot with SD card in the reader).
It works if I use an external reader that I connect when needed.
This problem is not important as I have a workaround.

Any one could help me with cloning issues?

Regards,
Pascal

The cloning method is best done when the target disk is in place, and the source disk is in the external dock. Be careful to select the right disks, though.

To answer your question, It is not clear why the cloning fail. Can you backup the source disk to an external USB, then use the recovery CD to restore it on the new SSD.

If the disks are of a different size, check out Grover's guide. http://forum.acronis.com/forum/29618
