Clone will not boot
I have cloned a 500GB Sata HD using TI 2013, to a 1 TB Sata, the distination disk has the data but when installed alone in place of the 500 GB disk it will not boot, I did get it to boot once by pressing F8 at startup but the next time it fails. Any ideas?
PS I also tried to re-clone the drive but it fails everytime, do I have to format the drive to make a new clone.

FromJim,
The best results for cloning are when you execute the clone operation from the recovery CD, not from Windows.
When you use the recovery CD, remember that the drive letters that it will assign are probably different from the ones Windows assign. Be *extra* careful to select the right disk for the source and destination.

Where can I find a procedure to get ready to move to Windows 8 bringing as much as I can with me, email, files, downloads and programs that work with Windows 8?

If you have your Windows XP installation media, you can boot to it with the newly cloned hard drive in place, and use the Windows XP recovery console to issue FIXMBR and FIXBOOT commands. See this for more information: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314058

I tried this and all I end up with is a blue screen saying "windows has detected a problem and must shut down" the screen is then frozen.
At the time I had a clone attached to the primary sata and the Windows XP as boot media, I used the "R" feature and then at the C:\Windows: prompt I issued "Fixmbr" and later "Fixboot" as I used them it told me I had a different ???? and using Fixmbr I might not be able to reboot. Which seems to have been right.
Thanks for trying
God bless
