Cloned Win 7 doesn´t boot from external usb3 harddisk

Thread needs solution

Hello guys,

maybe I am a little too stupid but I am trying to clone my running win7 system to an external usb3 harddrive. The running system is actually on a raid0 SSD (2 drives running as one).

I made a backup with true image 2011 and recovered it to the external hdd, doesn´t boot.
I tried to clone the running win7 partition to the external hdd, doesn´t boot.

Seems as all data has been copied but windows doesn´t want to start from this external drive.

What the hell am I doing wrong? Any ideas for me?

I need to do that because my raid drive is full and I decided to use 2 boot options. One with the SSD and the software I am using every day and the other one with the software I only need sometimes, for example my sound studio and graphics software.

ThX Jim

Win normally wont boot form a usb.

I thought when I change my bios options to boot from usb 1st......
Is there really no way to make win 7 booting from external drive?
There´s no more space in my computer to put in another drive.... :-(

Thx Jim
