Are you trying to clone or to a sector/image-based backup?

Clone. I want to swap the HD for a larger HD.

Chad,

Typically ATI doesn't know how to deal with encrypted disks.

First of all, you have to try from the recovery CD, not from within Windows.
For a cloning operation, choose the manual method and verify that ATI can appropriately see the origin disk. Do not try to resize the partitions with ATI to see if this helps.

If this doesn't work, you can try differently from within Windows. If this works, you will probably have a decrypted image. When you restore, if it works, you will get an unencrypted disk that you will have to reencrypt. To try, do a full, all-partition, sector-by-sector (option in advanced tad of the backup options).

If this doesn't work, you wil have to decrypt the disk before cloning or backing up.

Thanks. I am decrypting the drive now and will just re-encrypt it after I clone it.

Chad,

That seems to be the best approach.

Check out Grover's cloning guides to best move to a bigger disk (see links on the left)
