Computer suspends every 10 minutes, pausing my backup

Thread needs solution

I'm running 2012 on a Windows 7 PC. Every 10 minutes, the computer suspends, pausing the backup. This is not a scheduled backup.

This is a user solution issue. Computer power configuration needs modification.
This setting is inside the Windows Control Panel/power options which needs to be modified.
You can change the settings according to your needs, or I offer a guide which can solve the issue.

For my guide,

GroverH, thank you very much for your reply! It was much more helpful than Acronis' live chat. Your solution does solve my problem.

Is Acronis looking into a fix for this issue? An ordinary user should not be required to create power profiles and command files to work around something that Acronis can solve. This must be a common problem for other users.

Glad this was a successful workaround. I do not know if Acronis considers this an issue or not. Did you look in the scheduler section under the advanced settings to make sure the one box was checked to keep it awake?

There are other variations of the same type fix with a temp fix before the backup and an refix after the backup but this still involves a before and after command file.

Make your feelings known to Acronis. The prior versions have mostly stopped being fixed and only the current version receiving improvements.

How do I make my feelings known to Acronis?

The option to wake the PC up for a scheduled backup doesn't really help me and is greyed out since I'm not running a scheduled backup.

Here is two links. I would use both. This may have been fixed in 2013 but I do not know for sure as I am not associated with Acronis.

Good luck.

I have a 2013 copy and it has exhibited the problem also. Thanks for the links; I used both.
