Computer won't wake from sleep/hibernate
I have a daily Routine Backup onto an external USB drive (Incremental) using Acronis True Image Home 2012. In the Advanced Settings for the backup all the boxes are checked including the "Wake up the sleeping/hibernating computer" check box.
At 5:00AM, when the backup is scheduled, nothing happens. Later on, the moment I move the mouse, of course, everything wakes up and the backup starts.
The computer is configured to go to sleep after 2 hours of inactivity to save power when I forget to turn it off at night.
Thanks for any advice..

Another option would be to use the WINDOWS Task Scheduler and use it to create any simple task to wake the computer just prior to backup time. You could also even use Windows Task Scheduler to run the backup task instead of TrueImage.

Thanks guys... I have reviewed the info suggested and set it up in Windows Task Scheduler. I will post the results when it runs next. Wish me luck! :)

Well nothing I tried worked so I went back to the old "leave the computer on 24/7" routine -- which works. Strangely enough, task scheduler said the task was completed. ATI sid it wasn't. When I woke the computer the backup task did not start. When I opened ATI to check the log, the backup commenced.
I will try Grover's suggestion about using task scheduler to do some simple task.
