Convert a backup from HDD to DVD

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I'm probably missing something, but I am failing to do something which I always assumed would be possible.

I have a number of old True Image Home 2011 backups on an external HDD. Each of these is split into 4.7Gb .tib files so that they could be moved to DVD if necessary.

I am now short of space on my external drive and I wish to move a few of the older backups to DVD. I will probably never need them, but I am reluctant to delete them altogether. I had assumed that there would be an easy way to convert a HDD backup to a DVD backup, but the only way I can find is to write out the files individually using Windows Explorer.

What I would ideally like is a set of DVDs which could be used in the same way as if I had originally taken the backup to DVD.

Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks,

Alan

Use a dvd burner like imgburn.exe (free) or the windows built in burner to create a disk image for dvd and burn the image to disk. So long as the files are not too big, you can put them on DVD. For restoring, you really want to copy them onto a hdisk first. Don't try to resotre directly from a optical disk.

If you use imgburn and think the optinos are too confusing, then just stick with defaults all the way through the process and you should have no probs.
