Corrupt Image with ATIM 2011

Thread needs solution

I have new system (Dell - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 - 3.00GHZ - 8GB RAM - Win7 64-bit) with two new internal WD 500GB and one external WD 1TB backup drive.

I have done two image backups - one with the recovery disc, and one from within Windows. Both images get the same error message when I try to validate them:

The archive is corrupted (0x70020)
Tag = 0xF5F8CBCF76155663

I am using ATIM 2011 Build 6696.

Any suggestions?

Mike

Have a look at:
http://kb.acronis.com/content/1517 particularly the flowchart link in the Solutions section.
The corrupt message means that True Image cannot read the archive and successfully recreate the numerous checksums that were included in the archive when it was created. This can be a hardware problem due to bad disk sectors, bad cables, bad RAM, etc, in other words anything that causes bad data to be placed in memory.

Have you tried using the internal and the external drives as the archive target. Normally, internal HDs are less problematic than external.

Since you have used both Windows and the Recovery disk which is Linux and received the error it is not a Windows issue.
