Corrupted backup file using usb media with true image home 2013
Hi,
Recently a client with a PC with windows 2000 server got a nice blue screen of death "No boot device" probably from bad sectors or corrupted system files. So, I decided to format it to Windows 7. But before that I used True Image Home 2013 from a usb stick to take a full system backup (two partitions). The backup took more than two hours to complete to an external USB 2, 3,5 inch WD harddrive and created a 4 Gb tib file (that was about the size of all the files including the Operating system). I did a full backup (default options) as I did in the past.
True Image finished succesfully and then I formated the disk with Windows 7. But when I tried to restore my files from the backup I get the corruption error. I tried to mount it with true image 2011 but I get the message "Cannot open backup archive on the specified device. Either there is no archive on it or the archive is corrupt". If I try to validate it I get a similar message like "this is not the first backup of the backup set".
What can I do? I never had any problems with True Image until now. I need to restore a few important files from this backup. How can I open it to select the files to export?
