@date@ missing for backup file name

Thread needs solution

The option to add @date@ automatically to a backup setup when creating the backup file name is not there.

In TI2014 if your backup name was Backup name is Daily_full_ you could chose the option to add @date@ to name in the backup setup which is the current date the backup is created. The backup creates a file called this on disk Daily_full_2014-09-19_full_b627_s1_v1.tib.

If you upgrade to TI2015 and do not have to modify an existing backup setup, the file name with the current date is still produced so the functionality still exists on the back end, but not in the UI.

If you are in a recovery screen it critical to see the date in the file name. I opened a case with Acronis support and all they said was “this has been removed”.

Along with the other functionality that has been removed in this new release I think I’m going back to TI2014 until I find another backup solution. This version has been too dummied down for my needs.

Hi,
I was also suprised to see this functionality removed.

Just to have a different, not very much better, GUI, does not make a better product.

I support the conclusion of John.

@date and @time is automatically displayed in the file created field in file explorer in windows so it is kind of redundant

Along with all the other features removed that have been mentioned in the forum, the inability to sort images by date was another deal breaker for me. The GUI is terrible and I initially went back to 2014 however if this is an indication of things to come I'm looking at moving on to Paragon.

exactly is very annoying to handle many backup jobs if the does not provide a sort or grouping method...

No it is not redundant. It is very easy to change the file name and date when copying the file to a external haddrive or NAS. The ability to include the date and time automatically was a feature that we requested numerous time in the past. The ommission of it in the 2015 and other problems will prevent me from updatting. I am viewing the 2015 product as aserious downgrade at this time.
