Deleting version and dependent chain – probable bug

Thread needs solution

In 2012, deleting a version + dependent chain should stop when getting to the next non-dependent full in the sequence. However, deleting a full deletes backups after that point – even if they are not dependent. This behavior obviously corrupts all backups after the target point.

The function worked correctly in 2011

This is quite a serious error.

P.S. – as a side note. This is the 4th bug that I have reported in the just the past 72 hours --- obviously, 2012 was not tested sufficiently prior to release.

Stop turning the money wheel and start concentrating on releasing a robust product.

I tried that. Clearly there is something wrong, but I am wondering if this is not the selection of the version. I am running out of backup chains to delete, but I clearly deleted a bunch of them exept the one I was right clicking on.

I am wondering if you don't have first to click on the version, then right click...

I am pretty sure i did it correctly. had the date of the intended backup correctly, and the deletion indicated the intended target. so the program thought it was deleting what i wanted, and it did delete -- it just did not stop. it kept deleting through the version into the next version way beyond the dependencies.

Yes I saw something like this. Next time you try, can you make sure you first click a couple of times on the version, and then right click to delete?

will give it a go -- but 'click a couple of times'? but remember, it startes deleting where it should, deletes the correct chain, but not stopping when it should. will give it a go, but this is clearly a bug -- it used to work in 2011 and 2010.

Same problem here.
I hope there will be very soon a patch for this mess.
