dell motherboards keep dying
I restored my computer and now my motherboard is dead. This happened a few months ago as well. Has anyone had this issue with true image 2014? I'm on a Dell desktop and my last motherboard only lasted two months. The only thing I was doing when it they die is restoring my computer

Suspecting Acronis somehow the reason, I opened Task Manager and went to the "Startup" Tab and disabled the three Acronis Startup programs, re-booted and everything started O.K.
Something is off here. If Windows cannot boot, disabling the Acronis startup programs doesn't change anything. If Windows starts booting but then gets stuck, this is another story. So which one is your case?

Sorry. You're right. Windows started to boot then went into some sort of loop and just hung there. I have since gone back and enabled the Acronis start up programs and everything works fine now. I had also just installed McAfee which inserted 2 programs to Start Up. I had disabled these, when I enabled the Acronis programs, thinking there might be some kind of conflict. All programs are enabled in Start Up now and so far, all is well.
Thanks Pat

My computer wont do anything it just sits at the Dell logo. Last time this happened it was the motherboard but Dell just put a new motherboard in like 2 months ago. Now I restored with True Image and now the same problem. Does anyone know how to at least get to the boot loader so I can maybe reformat the drive or anything? Very frustrating experience. I don't know if it's just bad luck with motherboards or if True Image can some how screw things up. It would seem like True Image could not mess up a motherboard but I don't know for sure.

It is unlikely TI is at issue with your problem. The Dell logo you refer to is commonly known as the splash screen. This screen is shown by default during what is called the post sequence which is when the bios runs the machine configuration that initializes all hardware. This is the start of the boot process.
Consult your documentation or Dell support site for how to enter bios during boot. Follow those instructions and look through the bios for a boot tab. Navigate to that tab and look for Full Screen Logo or Splash Screen and disable, then save and exit so machine will reboot. This will allow you to find out what is stopping the post process and you can go from there.
