Destination refused when cloning disk

Thread needs solution

Hi,

using TrueImage 2013 + Plus pack.

On a customer's computer, I would like to clone the internal hdd to a brand new ssd drive connected as USB.
I created a rescue boot disk on a usb key, and used it to boot the customer's computer.
I chosed manual cloning (automatic cloning has the same error), I can choose its internal sata disk as source, but when selecting destination disk, the ssd disk is proposed but is grayed, I cannot select it.

I tried the menu "add a new disk" to configure the SSD as MBR or GPT, but the error is the same, I cannot select it as destination disk, although the disk is displayed (so correctly connected).

Is it a bug fixed by some patches/new releases?

Do I have to mount the ssd internally first, and clone the source from usb to internal?

Regards.

The link above covers cloning with ATI 2013.

There are 2 situations where ATI cannot clone...dynamic disks or disks with different sector sizes.

Alain,

Please follow the recommended steps for cloning, which does NOT include cloning to a destination connected via USB.

This KB gives a little more information about how to clone successfully (video)
