Does a recovered, Acronis image, of an Operating System, recognise the incremental status of Acronis data backups.
Hi guys.
Forgive my naivety, but I am a little concerned about restoring a 6 month old Acronis image of my operating system (Windows 8.1, 64 bit); specifically, with regard to the implications for my incremental backups of my personal data, using Acronis TI 2014!
The image of my operating system, is a little more than 6 moths old, and was a full backup, without updates, by differential, or incremental means! - It is a clean operating system, which I know contains no baggage - other programs!
With my current operating system, I have programmed Acronis 2014, to back up my personal data (My Documents, My Pictures, My Videos, My Music, and Windows Live Mail, etc), using the incremental option - 30 increments, before the next Full, and clear old backups!
If I restore my clean operating system, from the Acronis image, and then install Acronis 2014, will Acronis 2014 re-instate my backup plans, and recognise the status of my "Personal data backups, that were present, before I restored the operating system!
Namely, if the Acronis had previously backed up, say 15 increments, would the program, on the restored operating system, recognise this, and the next increment, 16, would would only back up changes, which have occurred since Increment 15.
