does TIH 'Universal Restore' from HDD to SDD cause Windows to handle SDD optimally ?

Thread needs solution

I have TIH 2014, and Windows 10 on an Acer laptop with a single HDD partitioned into C: (Windows) and D: (personal documents). I would like to replace the entire HDD with an SDD. I can backup the HDD C: partition to my NAS on the LAN and, in theory, TIH 'universal restore' (also called re-deploy ?) should be able to restore it to the SDD.

1. Is there anything wrong with this theory?

2. Importantly, if that's successful, will either TIH cause Windows to realize it's on an SDD or will Windows figure that out itself during startup (i.e., not during an installation) and do all the right stuff for dealing with the SDD? (E.g., not do background defrags, handle TRIM, etc.)

Thank you.
