does true image 2013 plus pack produce a 64bit winpe Disk or stick?
Hi,
I have a surface pro which i have purchased 2013 and plus pack to image backup my machine.
I am unable to create a 64 bit iso. The iso builder says 64 bit isnt supported when I point it at the folder created by copype using amd64 paramter
can anyone confirm that it doesnt support 64bit winpe? so I can atleast stop wasting my time
if not , will it ever? backup and recovery 11.5 does now support x64 winpe and has been confirmed on the surface pro
but i , cannot see a straight answer to the question about trueimage 2013.
Thanks for any help as i cannot get this working after many many hours

Yes, only the Linux based recovery environment is 32/64 bit.

thanks for the reply's but after some further digging , it appears that acronis backup and recovery 11.5 has two versions of the winpe files, a 32 and 64 bit versions, where as the trueimage 2013 install only has one set of winpe files. Now there does appears to be 32bit and 64bit files in the one zip file, so it could be one zip for both 32 bit and 64bit but its not clear.
Yet, again the trueimage winpe iso builder will not allow a 64bit iso to be created, it errors, saying 64 bit is not supported.
so its clear there are two versions of winpe (32 and 64 bit) and that the server product, backup and recovery 11.5 , does support both and has been proven to work on a surface pro, when using a 64bit winpe iso, Yet what is still not clear is what is acronis's position on trueimage 2013 plus pack supporting the creation of a 64 bit winpe iso.
Acronis, can you please clarify what is currently supported and the position on this going forward please
Thanks Again

Hello All!
Welcome to Acronis Forum, dashark!
tuttle, Colin, I appreciate your help!
The current situation is as follows:
- Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 bootable media builder supports both 32-bit and 64-bit WinPE distributions.
- True Image 2013 by Acronis bootable media builder supports only x86 (32-bit) WinPE 2.x, WinPE 3.0 and WinPE 4.0.
I've forwarded your request to our development team and they will consider WinPE x64 support in future releases of True Image Home.
Let me know if you have additional questions.
Thank you.

I purchased the Plus Pack for 2013, because it advertised support for WinPE 4.0 and Windows 8. I encountered the same issue - only x86 supported in ISO builder. The USB I created was not recognised by my Surface Pro as a boot device so it booted Windows up normally.
I apparently wasted my money purchasing the Plus Pack, since this was the only reason for which I needed it.
Acronis is guilty of false representation.

The Surface Tablet along with a few other laptops do have a problem with the PP and the way the hardware manufacturers have enacted Seucre Boot and Windows 8 systems.
For all other systems whether running W8 or not a 32bit recovery environment can boot the hardware and restore 64 bit systems OK. Having said that, it ought to be relatively easy for Acronis to produce a 64 bit PP version as the corporate products can produce 64 bit versions.
