DriveCleanser failed on external HDD & How to remove Acronis Loader?
Using Acronis True Image 2014 premium v6673
PC - Win XP
Issues:-
(1) Acronis DriveCleanser
Failed to cleanse, erase, securely destroy data on external mounted HDD.
Is this normal?
HDD attached by UBS then by eSATA connections, repeated failures.
Nothing happened before or after repeated rebooting of PC.
Is this because the HDD is attached externally or its running on XP or what?
I will probably give up on this as I have no more time to waste.
(2) Acronis Loader
When PC was rebooting to run DriveCleanser (see above) I receive the traditional message: "Acronis Loader fatal error - Boot drive (partition) not found"
I never installed Acronis Loader.
I assume it installed itself to run the non-working DriveCleanser functions outside of the OS?
Now, HOW DO I REMOVE IT?????
Can it be removed with a handy utility or should I try to recover a master boot record from a previous, old, backup of the internal HDD?
Solved Acronis Loader/MBR Error 3 issue by reloading MBR from last backup.
Unfortunately discovered the this full partition backup was corrupted, would not open in True Image 2014, although it would mount the image.
Cure one problem discover another to replace it.
