DVDs not filled when backing up with ATIH 2010

If I use DVD-Rs to back up selected files and folders, they will only be about half full.

Here is the result I get ...

Used Space = 2.00 GB, Free Space = 2.20 GB, Capacity = 4.20 GB

What gives? Why doesn't the rest of the disc fill?

How much are you selecting to be backed up, more than 2Gb? Don't forget TI will compress files to a certain extent. Maybe you're selecting 4Gb of files but they are being compressed to 2Gb.

Thanks for your idea, but...

If that were the case, why would ATIH ask for a 2nd & 3rd disc to continue the backup?

You got me there ... I never use DVDs for any kind of True Image backup so I have no idea.
