Dynamic source disk greyed out

Thread needs solution

I have the plus pack installed and am trying to image a dynamic disk which was one of a mirrored pair in a server. The disk has 4 partitions on it.

I have connected the SATA disk to the machine I have TI 2013 Plus pack installed on, and when I run TI to image it the disk is greyed out in disk mode, but I can select the partitions in partition mode.

Is this expected? Can I not image a whole disk if it is dynamic? The implication on the website is that teh Plus Pack enables me to image dynamic disks.

If this is a limitation of the product, how will I do the following... One of the disks in the raid pair has failed, and I want to replace them both with larger disks. If I image the partitions on the working disk, and then build a raid pair with the new, larger disks, can I then restore the partitions to the new raided disks using TI2013?

Would I be able to use a bootable TI2013 disk to restore the partitions mounted in the target machine, or do I need to use the version installed on my machine?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You can't take backup of dynamic disks in disk mode, you have to do it in partition mode. For the restore , you have to create a dynamic volume of desired configuration on the new disks and restore the image on it.
However - http://www.acronis.com/support/documentation/ATIH2013/#21822.html - mirrored and RAID5 configurations are not supported.
