Is email backup improved in TI2014?

Thread needs solution

Today I got a reminder that this is my last chance to get a discounted upgrade from TI2013 to TI2014. Having used this product since late 2012 and having still to deal with frequent issues to which I cannot find a solution, I have to admit to a measure of reluctance to spend more money. However, if I am being unfair there is still time to learn what I'm doing wrong.

My posting here http://forum.acronis.com/forum/55530 having produced no response, I wonder if anyone can review it and let me know if TI2014 has resolved the problem that I (and, from other posts I saw, quite a few others) have. Here, for your convenience, is the summary.

I run an email backup as a scheduled job every night. This is set as a Differential backup, with cleanup set to permit no more than three differentials. This seems mostly to do what it's supposed to. However, it is more or less a rule that, if I attempt to start Outlook after the backup has run, the application hangs at the "Loading Profiloe" message and will not complete loading until I kill the TrueImageService task using Task Manager.

If this has been diagnosed elsewhere and fixed in 2014, it's not too late for me to pay my £13.95, but I am not prepared to throw more money at this problem if that is not the case. Can anyone advise?

Hangs of this nature are most often attributed to outdated drivers. I would make sure that all hardware in the machine has the latest updated drivers. This includes NIC, video card, mobo bios and chipset, storage drivers. In addition you may wish to try disabling IPv6 on your network as some older routers do not support it and some ISP's do not fully support it yet as well.

I will say that I see very few posts on the Forum concerning email backup issues with 2014.

The 2015 version is in beta and will probably be released sometime this fall if past practice has any significance.

Frankly, I never use or need the "backup email" feature as my backups automatifcally included everything on the disk anyway.

I wonder if this might also be a problem with whatever program you might be using to sync your email to a mobile device???? I sometimes get sync error messages during backups. That might explain why you're having an issue others are not.

My main email and calendar are imap based (gmail), so they are not stored only locally. Because of that, ignoring full disk backups I only back up my PST files once a week (ignoring Cloud backup) and do that as a separate Full backup which completes fairly quickly. Doing that could minimize the issues you are having.

FWIW, I think the main benefit of 2014 over 2013 is you can do full disk backups to Acronis Cloud. Other than that I haven't noticed any difference.
