Email notification setup issue

Thread needs solution

I have read on one posting that the user was having problem setting up the email notification without smtp login. Setup does not save and give error for missing fields. Only way around it is to use another smtp server like gmail.

Is Acronis planning to fix or change this issue so the SMTP can be done with a server without login?

This issue has been present in many versions of True Image. It is has been fixed and then unfixed (is that a word?). It has been reported to Acronis, and there does not seem to be a fix pending, or it is very low on their priority of issues to address. I doubt that waiting for a fix will be beneficial. Using a third party SMTP server (like Gmail) seems to be the only option.

I use Gmail's SMTP server for this on my system, and then set up a filter in Gmail to forward the Acronis email notifications to my primary email account.
