Email notification with SSL

ATIH 2012 - email notifications used to work with SSL, however, now only no encryption works for me (yes, I have confirmed my settings, which work with other software). I suspect this is related to the SSL Heartbeat vulnerability, so SSL libraries have been updated, but I see no new updated for ATIH 2012 :-(
