Email Notifications Have Stopped Working

Thread needs solution

I have lots of Acronis installations, some 2016, some 2015, some 2014, and some 2013. They have notifications set up with Gmail and have been working for some time. Recently I've noticed they're no longer working. I use 2 different GMail accounts for sending the notification and both have less secure apps turned on. In some cases I can change from SSL port 465 to TLS port 587 and it'll work. In some cases it still fails. What's happened lately to cause all of this to no longer work? Are there some new settings that'll work?

Joel, please see post https://forum.acronis.com/forum/121119 in the 2016 Forum where this same behaviour has been noted.  This seems to be affecting Gmail mainly and I have hit it myself.

Of interest, I have found that Outlook mail is working well using smtp-live.outlook.com with port 587 and TLS if you have an Outlook.com account.

 Acronis True Image 2015 Email notification stopped working June 23. Have tried port 465 SSL and port 587 TSL. Neither worked. Back up is working fine. What to try next?
