Error 0x00D6001E

Thread needs solution

I recently replaced computer and am doing first online backup. I scheduled every two hrs but then that is not enough time to backup 50GB of data. I realize that it will take days to get this done. Last night the computer would not shut down because " a process was still in progress" I did some research and learned that it was Acronis. I have not even done a backup to external drive yet, as I understand that this same thing happens with that!!! It would be nice if I was warned or new what the process was before or during attempt to shutdown. Today I booted up and took off the "every 2 hour" online backup schedule, because it stated next backup was at 7:10 AM 6/28/11 and it was already 9:30 AM!!! So I figured I would just do a manual backup but then I get the Error 0x00D6001E. I can't tell if the backup is working as there is nothing in the system tray or processes that looks like Acronis. I switched from Mozy because it became cost prohibitive. But with Acronis I can't tell if an online backup is running or not, I cannot even visually see if a file has been backed up. Carbonite visually lets you see if a file is backed up or not with a green/orange dot in the icon.
How do I cancel the "phantom" backup so I can run it manually, without having to reboot? Because if I try to shutdown I get the message that windows will shut down when the process is finished, which I let run over night last night and still only 1832MB was backuped up, which is same amount when I went to bed. It's been sitting for several hours this morning after a reboot and nothing has changed on how much data has backed up, it is still stating 1832MB, but still gives me error 0x00D6001E.

Same problem(s) here - using Windows 7 (64bit), german, plus Acronis True Image Online. :-(
