Error message ~ Scheduler service is stopped and disabled

Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit

Hi,

I've just seen the above error message which comes up when I go into the back up and recovery tab (have attached a screen shot for info).

I've tried to resolve the problem by hitting the enable scheduler service (as per the message box), alas without success.

Welcome ideas on how to solve.
