"Error occurred while reading the file" during validation.

Thread needs solution

I run Windows 7 on i7 2600k with 16gb ram on a 160gb Intel SSD.

I performed a disk back-up of a system image (bootable) on DVD RW DL disks. The back-up went along with no errors across 6 disks. The I decided to validate it.

On the 2nd disk it pops-up "Error occurred while reading the file" 0x00040001+0x0000FFF0+0x80070017

Retries don't help. I even started the validation from scratch.

I'm on the trial version and I'm wondering if I need to look elsewhere. If it can't perform an error free process during my 1st system image, I fear for future successes.

Since the 2nd disk is apparently 'bad' now, that means this program destroyed about $18 worth of DVD DL disks, thanks to this program. Color me disappointed.

Brent,

I don't know why it fails, but I know that backing up to DVD's is risky with ATI (or with other software). I also know we have seen numerous users struggling with DVD backups on this forum.

If you can, backup to a local USB disk... and/or simply backup to some disk and use a third party DVD burner to archive the TIB file to DVD as a backup of backup

Hello,

Today I backed multiple partitions and am now trying to restore one of them. I get this same error. I'm backing up to a USB drive so it's not something due to burning the DVD. I've tried to recover the partition as well as the individual files with no luck. Given the fact that I just backed it up today and am now restoring it, I must say that I'm a bit unhappy at this point. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jim
