Error Writing the File during backup

Thread needs solution

I am helping someone with True Image Home 2009. She has tried to do an image backup, and a backup of her My Documents folder, which is set up as a task. We tried to run the image back up manually and got the following error message several times: Error Writing the File. Click Browse to Specify Volume location, Retry to try again, or click Cancel.
I've tried the Browse button, and the Retry button without any luck.

Her computer is running WinXP, SP3.

I have attached several log files to this post. Some of the earlier ones were successful; the most recent ones are not.

What do I do to help my friend out now?

Thanks,

EJH

Dear Ellen!

Welcome to our Forum, it's nice to have you with us! I highly appreciate your attempt to help you friends, and I'll definitely be glad to assist you.

First of all thank you for the logs provided, it was a great help. Still it's hard to say for sure (I'll need additional info), but looks like it's a snapapi glitch or/and hard drive errors. Let's try the following:

  1. Go to Start -> Run -> cmd and issue there the following command
    chkdsk /f /r
    Reboot the machine
This will help us to be sure there are not errors on the drive
  2. I will send you the PM with the SnapAPI update, please follow the instructions and see whether the issue persists

Should it remain, please provide us with the following information:

  1. Acronis Info
  2. Exact sequence of steps performed

This will help us to to identify the exact cause of the problem and find an appropriate solution!

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
