Exclude folders broken

Trying to clone my 250GB HD to a 120GB SSD using Acronis True Image Home 2014 bootable media.
I want to exclude the D:\Users folder from the operation as otherwise it would be too big to fit on the SSD and in any case can remain on the HD.
However, instead of being a simple task, Acronis TIH goes into some kind of endless loop where the HD is constantly getting thrashed and it doesn't proceed.
At one point when I excluded D:\Users\Me\Desktop for example, I could see TIH had totally miscalculated the space and was telling me I had 124 TB selected and 12,619,348 TB free! See screenshot attached.
Can this bug be fixed please?
