Excluding the System Volume Information folder from backups

Thread needs solution

The title says it all so how is it done? Can't find anything in the user manual about it.

What have you tried?

Have you tried clicking on "Backup Options" and going to the Exclusions tab and in the blank simply typing C:\System Volume Information\ and clicking +Add ? If so, does that not work? I am able to add the exclusion to the list, but I haven't seen whether it is successful in actually excluding it.

Thank you Les. Yes, that's exactly what I have tried, both in Windows and booted to rescue media. In both cases it causes ATI to hang indefinitely, and in Windows it causes the dreaded 'Operations are in progress' screen. Only way out of that is the power button. There really ought to be a way to do this, as restore points can significantly increase both the backup size and time it takes, yet if you are restoring an image you won't need those restore points. Don't want to turn System Restore off though as it can be very helpful for a quick fix.
