Fail! Recovery on Intel SSD 510 Series.

Thread needs solution

Just put a rig together with a new SSD from Intel running 510 (120 Gb running 6 GB/s). Seems to be a big issue for me with this drive. I've been running X25 drives from Intel for quite some time with good results. But this one is a big FAIL!

The issue:
- When doing a backup image with True Image 11 it works ok. Even validating it.
- When restoring, I get a big FAIL in my face: Failed to write data to disk. Failed to write to sector '2.048' of hard disk 1.
Direct R/W operation has failed. (x590001)

I believe this got something to do with previous SSD issues with alignments. It states clearly that this should work in TI 2011!

I have made sure not to change partition size or anything. Just recover disk image to SSD. I've allowed for 1 MB before the recovered partition, all to no avail.

Now the fun part is that Intel and Acronis have teamed up on their SSD side and Intel provides a cheaper Acronis Cloning tool. They also provide links to Acronis with 40% knock-off in price. But this still doesn't help me.

Tech supprt last night on a wobbly network connection claimed my drive is not working. I claim he is totally wrong. It works perfect.

I installed Norton Ghost and it respects the drive architecture. no problem with THAT software, only I don't like Norton.

I've sent this to tech support, but I expect just another "no-brainer" answer, so I want to know if any of you guys out there have a clue? Getting disappointed as all it does it crashes my MBR and I have to install windows from scrach. I've done this 5 times now!

Oh, and by the way - I purchased Disk Director 11 and guess what. The SSD doesn't even show up in the boot mode (linux). But heck, it does show up in other partitioning software....

Regards.
