Thread needs solution

This is getting to be very annoying.
I do FULL backups to a network share. After running for 2 weeks or so without errors, I get this error after the backup is complete.

I think it is trying to validate and it gets this error. The error code is the same as posted by others who are doing incremental backups. I do FULL backups.

If i recreate the backup script it again runs for about 10 days and fails again!

This is clearly a bug!.

Any thoughts?

I forgot to mention that i periodically manually Delete old backup files on the network share.
Maybe this is causing the problem.

OK, I found that indeed, the manual deletions are causing this problems.
I tried to restore the back set which keeps failing. I kept having to say "IGNORE" to sets it could not find.
Then I changed the option to ONLY keep 5 days worth of backup sets.

It Worked, without the error...

Hi, If you are doing JUST full backups then the concept of "Backup sets" is mute as each full backup should validate on its own without referring to any other files. Are you sure you are only doing full backups each time?

Are you validating when the backup is done or using the automatic validation where validation runs on files on a regular basis. If you are using this method then I suspect the "batch" job that is scheduled will not be able to find the file it expects and may be the cause of the error.

When you say "delete manually" is this via the ATIH GUI or just using explorer and hitting the delete key. If so I suggest you might try using the ATIH GUI to delete the files - this SHOULD tidy everything up.

Hope one/some of the above is useful.
