"Failed to read...." Message
I am using True Image 2010.
I am getting a message saying:
Failed to read from sector 116,846,184 of hard disk 1
Failed to read the snapshot (0x10C45A)
CRC error (0x100155)
I have used 'Disck Doctor' to scan the disk and correct it. It found one error and claimed to correct it, and since then reports 'no errors' The message above continues to occur, so that Acronis is non-functiononal on my machne, a very alarming condition.
Can you shed some light on what is happening? Is the disk still bad, or was some file that Acronis uses corrupted by the error and the correction process?

Failed to read data from the the disk. Failed to read from sector 373,961,103 of hard disk '1' failed to read snapshot (0x10C45A) CRC error (0x100155)
Please help. I have never been able to run a back up with acronis.

I have the same error.I ran chkdsk /r and it looked like it was repairing bad sectors. Acronis still came up with the error at the same sector. Windows was able to complete a backup? Why would Windows be able to complete and Acronis not?
Also, does this mean the Hard Drive is going bad?

Dale and Rick, make sure you use the chdsk with the /R parameter on each partition of the disk. Sometimes, it requires several passes for chkdsk.
That said, we have seen pretty often Acronis complain about a disk, or seeing information on a disk, that other software ignore or don't see.
You can try the disk manufacturer disk diagnosis utility to see if they do a better job than chkdsk.
Having a couple of bad sectors is not an issue. Seeing bad sectors come back and/or increase in numbers is indicative of an issue.

Thank you. Where do I find the disk manufacturer utility?

While running True Image 2013 backup of C: Failed to read from sector '-884,939,786' of hard disk '1'. Failed to read the snapshot manager drive. (0x1000D7) Unknown status, (0x9) I have run chkdsk /f/r/x on my c:. Still getting error. What do I do?

Shaun,
If you have more than one hard disk, you should run the chkdsk commands on each drive, including backup destination drives.

From the drive manufacturer's web site.

OK.. chkdsk /r /f on drive C completed, now running chkdsk /f /r on my external backup drive.

What makes this strange is that I just replaced my hard drive/cloned it using acronis true image 2013. It was a newly purchased 2 TB WD harddrive which I had partitioned/formatted. I had been able to backup to my external h/d with my old hard drive prior to the cloning, so it should not have any bad spots on it.

Just trying to eliminate the simple fixes first.

OK, ran chkdsk /f/r on both C: and on the external h/d I backup too. still getting error: Failed to read from sector '-2,920.734,257' of hard disk '1'. Try to repeat the operation. If the rror persists, check the disk using Check Disk Utility and create a backup of the disk. Failed to read the snapshot manager drive. (0x1000D7) Unknown status/ (0x9) The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error (0cFFF0).
Help!!

The funny thing is my system rums fine for everything except the acronis backup 2013, and the acronis disk director 11.

I also downloaded the acronis aligner from the western digital website, and installed/ran it. it says all drives are already aligned.

Shaun,
Try running a Repair Installation of 2013 by re-running the 2013 installer file, then test for backup problems again.

Shaun,
Can you create a screenshot of your windows disk management with the following option:
- right click on the computer icon on your desktop,
- choose manage, storage, disk management,
- in the view menu, choose top, list disks
