Failing to initialise the snapshot manager library

Thread needs solution

I have just downloaded Acronis True Image Home 2011 to run on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, but I am having problems already. I uninstalled the 2010 version and then installed the 2011 version, which told me it had installed successfully. However, as soon as I tried to activate the startup recovery manager, I ran into trouble. A message popped up saying that the snapshot manager library couldn't be initialised. I subsequently found that clicking on many of the other links produced the same error message.

I had no problems at all with TI 2010, so this comes as a huge disappointment. I hope it can be sorted fairly easily. By the way, I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling with most other programs shut down (using "End it All") but still the same problem.

I was looking for my message (above) to see if anyone had replied, but I couldn't find it, although I was able to find it after doing a search for my name. I wonder where it was hiding? More seriously, hasn't anyone else had this problem with True Image 2011 yet? What is the solution to the problem I wonder?

It's done it again. After posting a message, I return to the forum and it's there, but as soon as I leave the site it disappears from the list. Am I missing something obvious?

Try to cleanup your installation with the Acronis cleanup utility.

Install 2010 back and verify it works correctly. If it does, that's your base, back it up.

Uninstall 2010, cleanup again, install 2011 and see if the issue persists.
