File or Application recovery
Hopefully someone can help. I upgraded from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 8 Pro and did a partition backup in Windows 7 before proceeding with the upgrade. Ran into problems with drivers and had to do a "refresh" of the Windows 8 installation and didn't realize it but lost all of my applications. One app has all my timecard records (Easy Time Tracker) but I would have had to back up my database to have saved them. I think the only way to recover the database is to reinstall the program, but I don't want to wipe out the installation of Windows 8. Is there anyway to recover just that program? Thanks if someone can help. KBP

Thanks James, I was able to find individual files from the partition backup, but the C:\ProgramData\Logic Software\Easy Time Tracking\DB 6.0 is not there. I guess I am out of luck unless there is a way to find system or hidden files (and I don't know if they were excluded by default). Thanks again for responding. KPB

You can change the file viewing options to allow you to see hidden and system files.
Open Control Panel, select Folder Options and then click on the View tab, amend the entries as per the attached snipshot.
