File or folder recovery from Disk or Partition backup image
Just started using ATIH 2012 after older versions of ATI and am very confused about whether files or folders can be selectively restored from a disk or partition image.
When going through the Recover dialogue the software seems to only offer the option to recover a whole partition.
In earlier versions ( ATI 11 for example ) it was always possible to navigate to a separate folder / file once the backup file had been selected.
This functionality obviously has a bearing as to how to develop a sensible backup startegy using this new version.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I've worked out the process to mount the image but still don't see the file selection as part of the restore process. It certainly isn't clear.
This is what I've done :
Select "Recover" from withis the "Backup and recovery" Tab
This presents a screen to "Choose Backup" and I select the job which created the backup.
This then presents a screen labelled "Disk Recovery" and shows the backup filename and below the two partitions contained in the backup C & D with two check boxes to select which to recover.
I don't see anywhere to start to drill into files & folders and don't want to press the "Recover now" button incase it restores a whole partition !
Apologies if I've missed something here but I do think this software could be a bit more intuative - surely a big question asking what the user wants to recover would be sensible in this process - never came across this in earlier versions.
Anyway, any further info would be appreciated.

Yeah, 2012's interface is not the easiest. I can't give you the exact sequence, as I don't have 2012 installed at the moment. Check out tutorials linked in the left column of the forum, especially ATIH 2012 - Getting Started and Grover's True Image Guides.

Thanks again - eventually found it - right click on the backup and choose "explore and recover" that opens a new screen which does indeed allow drilling into folders and files.
Have no idea why this isnt integrated into the main menu tabs !!
Thanks again for the earlier help

There are a few places where expected commands are nowhere to be found, and are "hidden" in a right-click. I've encountered that myself when hunting for a command.
You're welcome. :)
