Fried motherboard
Hello,
I lost my motherboard a few days ago. My new pc will arrive in 3 days. I have an external hard drive, with complete back-ups that is good, back-ups were made with Acronis True Image 2013. Old PC had Windows 7 for OS. New PC will have Windows 8.1. What is the best way to recover my data from the external hard drive, and be able to access it. Disk clone?
Please advise.

Thank you for your reply. Long story short, I tried to re-install by reformatting the C drive on an SSD. When that didn't work, I thought the SSD must have gone bad. So, I tried to reformat the second hard drive, and that didn't work. So now I am thinking motherboard. But, I have lost the information on both drives now. : ( So, my external is the only game in town. That has my backup on it, but they are located in the Acronis Secure Zone, which I believe is formatted in FAT32. Since my hard ware will be different with the new pc, you think I will have to go to some third party migration program? Any suggestions?

I do not have any suggestions for third party tools further, since you have your backup within an Aconis Secure Zone you are going to have use the TI app to access it. You should be able to do that using the boot media I would think. I am attaching a link to the TI 2013 Web Help for the Secure Zone, read through it so that you understand how to access the zone and retrieve data from it.
